Miami (FL) vs. Georgia Tech: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Miami (FL) vs. Georgia Tech football game
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Miami (FL) Hurricanes will face off in an ACC clash at 12:30 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Hard Rock Stadium. Miami (FL) will be strutting in after a victory while the Yellow Jackets will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Georgia Tech came up short against the Virginia Tech Hokies last week, falling 26-17. Despite the loss, Georgia Tech got a solid performance out of RB Jahmyr Gibbs, who picked up 113 yards on the ground on 11 carries. Gibbs' longest run was for 61 yards in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Miami (FL) beat the Pittsburgh Panthers 38-34 last week. The squad ran away with 31 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those in the second to pick up the win. Miami (FL)'s success was spearheaded by the efforts of RB Jaylan Knighton, who punched in two rushing touchdowns, and QB Tyler Van Dyke, who passed for three TDs and 428 yards on 42 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Van Dyke's 57-yard TD bomb to TE Will Mallory in the first quarter.
The Yellow Jackets have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 10 point spread they are up against. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the team has let down bettors in their past four games.
Georgia Tech is now 3-5 while the Hurricanes sit at 4-4. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Georgia Tech is stumbling into the game with the 197th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 11 on the season. Miami (FL) has experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are 210th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 12 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
