Miami (FL) vs. NC State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Miami (FL) vs. NC State football game
Game Recap
If the NC State Wolfpack were riding high off their 33-7 takedown of the Boston College Eagles last week, that ride came to an abrupt end. It could have gone either way late during winning time for the Wolfpack or the Miami (FL) Hurricanes on Saturday, but it was Miami (FL) snatching the 31-30 victory. The loss was just more heartbreak for NC State, who fell 44-41 when the teams previously met last November.
QB Tyler Van Dyke hadn't helped the Hurricanes' cause all that much against the North Carolina Tar Heels last week, but the same can't be said for this matchup. Miami (FL) Van Dyke was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 325 yards on 33 attempts. That was the first 300+ yard effort for Van Dyke this season. WR Charleston Rambo was in the mix, too, providing Miami (FL) with two touchdowns.
The losing side was boosted by QB Devin Leary, who passed for two TDs and 310 yards on 42 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
The defeat dropped NC State's record to 5-2. Miami (FL)'s win brought them up to 3-4.
The Wolfpack will take on the Louisville Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium. As for the Hurricanes, they will face off against the Pittsburgh Panthers at noon ET next Saturday at Heinz Field. Like Miami (FL), Pitt is also coming into the contest bolstered by a recent win.
