Miami of Ohio vs. Bowling Green updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Miami (OH) vs. Bowling Green football game
The Bowling Green Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Miami of Ohio RedHawks at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Fred C. Yager Stadium. Miami of Ohio is favored, but seeing as the odds didn't stop Bowling Green this last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.
The third road match was the charm for Bowling Green, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Georgia Tech by a score of 38-27 on Saturday. Bowling Green was down 14-0 with 9:40 left in the first quarter but they still came back for a handy 11-point victory.
Bowling Green's win was a true team effort, with three players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terion Stewart, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown. Those 138 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Stewart. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Bazelak, who threw for 263 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Miami of Ohio had already won three in a row, and they went ahead and made it four. They put the hurt on Kent State with a sharp 23-3 win on Saturday.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Kent State to a paltry 206 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Miami of Ohio's ability to keep the quarterback under presure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Ty Wise and his two sacks.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Miami of Ohio, racking up 11 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Graham Nicholson: he added nine points with three field goals, and another two kicking extra points.
Their wins bumped Bowling Green to 2-3 and Miami of Ohio to 4-1.
Not only did both teams in this Saturday's contest win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Miami of Ohio is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by ten points. For those looking to play the spread, keep Miami of Ohio's opponent in mind: they have a solid 4-1 record against the spread vs Bowling Green over their last five matchups.
Bowling Green didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Miami of Ohio in their prior recent meeting last October, but they still walked away with a 17-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bowling Green since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
