Michael Vick is arguably the best football player to ever come through Virginia Tech. At the very least, he was the most exciting. No matter how you call it, the university has decided to honor, in their words, "maybe the greatest Virginia Tech athlete in the school's history."
Vick is one of five former Hokies players who will be inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame this fall. The announcement also notes that Vick will be joined by former linebacker Ben Taylor, baseball player Tim Buheller, basketball player Zabian Dowdell and softball player Megan Evans.

This year's honorees will be inducted on Sept. 22 ahead of Virginia Tech's game against Old Dominion.
Vick's illustrious career in Blacksburg was highlighted by his redshirt freshman season in which he finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting and led the Hokies to an 11-0 record before losing to Florida State in the national championship game. He was later drafted No. 1 overall by the Atlanta Falcons.
