Michigan vs. Michigan State updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Michigan vs. Michigan State football game
Game Recap
If the Michigan Wolverines were riding high off their 49-24 takedown of the Minnesota Golden Gophers last week, that ride came to an abrupt end. Michigan fell just short of the Michigan State Spartans by a score of 27-24. If the result catches you off guard, it should: the Wolverines were far and away the favorite.
MSU QB Rocky Lombardi was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 323 yards on 32 attempts. The Spartans also relied on the talents of K Matt Coghlin, whose two field goals, the longest a 51-yard boot in the third quarter, proved pivotal in the final score.
No one had a standout game offensively for Michigan, but they got scores from RB Blake Corum and RB Hassan Haskins.
The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
The Wolverines will take on the Indiana Hoosiers at noon ET next week at Memorial Stadium. MSU is staying on the road next week to face off against the Iowa Hawkeyes at noon ET Nov. 7 at Kinnick Stadium. Like MSU, Iowa is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent victory.
