Michigan vs. Northwestern: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Michigan vs. Northwestern football game
The Michigan Wolverines will be returning home after a two-game road trip. They will take on the Northwestern Wildcats at noon ET on Saturday at Michigan Stadium after a week off. Michigan is out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
The Wolverines came out on top in a nail-biter against the Nebraska Cornhuskers two weeks ago, sneaking past 32-29. Kudos to the oddsmakers for accurately forecasting both the winner and the close margin. Michigan can attribute much of their success to RB Hassan Haskins, who rushed for two TDs and 123 yards on 21 carries. Haskins' longest run was for 50 yards in the fourth quarter.
Special teams collected 14 points for Michigan. K Jake Moody delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
Meanwhile, Northwestern beat the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 21-7 last week. Northwestern QB Ryan Hilinski was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 267 yards on 33 attempts. Hilinski's 64-yard touchdown toss to WR Malik Washington in the first quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the day.
This next game looks promising for Michigan, who are favored by a full 23.5 points. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (3-1), so they might be worth a quick bet.
The wins brought the Wolverines up to 6-0 and the Wildcats to 3-3. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: Michigan is stumbling into the contest with the 166th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up nine on the season. Northwestern has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 226th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 14 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
