Michigan vs. Rutgers updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Michigan vs. Rutgers football game
If the oddsmakers' predictions hold true, the near future looks bright for Michigan. They will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at 12:00 p.m. ET at Michigan Stadium. The timing seems to be in Michigan's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Rutgers have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Saturday, Michigan made easy work of Bowling Green and carried off a 31-6 win.
Michigan can attribute much of their success to RB Blake Corum, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Corum was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. QB J.J. McCarthy didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but he still finished with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Rutgers didn't have too much trouble with Virginia Tech at home on Saturday as they won 35-16.
Rutgers relied on the efforts of QB Gavin Wimsatt, who threw for 46 yards and a touchdown, and RB Kyle Monangai, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns. Monangai is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in at least one in the last three games he's played.
Looking ahead, Michigan are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 24 points. Bettors picking them against the spread have some confidence (to put it mildly), as the team is sitting on a three-game streak of failing to cover playing at home.
Everything came up roses for Michigan against Rutgers in their previous matchup last November as the squad secured a 52-17 victory. Will Michigan repeat their success, or do Rutgers have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
