Middle Tenn. vs. Monmouth: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Middle Tenn. vs. Monmouth football game
Game Recap
The Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders took their game at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 50-15 win over the Monmouth Hawks.
After a totally unproductive first quarter, the Middle Tenn. offense stepped up its game and put 21 points on the board in the second quarter. Monmouth countered with 7 points. The offense for the Blue Raiders continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 29 points to put the game away.
Middle Tenn. QB Bailey Hockman was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 208 yards on 23 attempts. Middle Tenn.'s CB Teldrick Ross got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the fourth quarter into a touchdown.
Middle Tenn.'s defense was a presence as well, as it collected one interception and three fumbles. Ross picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
No one had a standout game offensively for Monmouth, but they got two touchdowns from QB Tony Muskett. The matchup brought Middle Tenn. to 1-0 and dropped Monmouth to a mirror-image 0-1.
The Blue Raiders will square off against the Virginia Tech Hokies at 2 p.m. ET next Saturday at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field. Virginia Tech is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 17-10 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Friday. The Hawks will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Jack Coffey Field at 6 p.m. ET next Saturday. The Fordham Rams are looking for a pick-me-up after a 52-7 blowout defeat to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
