Minnesota vs. Bowling Green updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Minnesota vs. Bowling Green football game
After a two-game homestand, the Bowling Green Falcons will be on the road. They will take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers at noon ET on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
It was all tied up 10-10 at the half for the Falcons and the Murray State Racers last week, but Bowling Green stepped up in the second half for a 27-10 win.
Meanwhile, Minnesota got themselves on the board against the Colorado Buffaloes last week, but Colorado never followed suit. Minnesota put the hurt on Colorado with a sharp 30 to nothing victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Golden Gophers had established a 20 to nothing advantage. RB Treyson Potts was the offensive standout of the matchup for Minnesota, rushing for three TDs and 121 yards on 26 carries.
Minnesota's defense was a presence as well, as it got past Colorado's offensive line to sack the QB four times for a total loss of 31 yards. It was a group effort with zero guys contributing.
Bowling Green is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. They hadn't treated fans well this season, but they at least enjoy a 2-0 record against the spread.
The wins brought Bowling Green up to 1-2 and the Golden Gophers to a reciprocal 2-1. A pair of offensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Falcons are stumbling into the contest with the 239th fewest rushing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 53 on average. Minnesota has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 192nd worst in the nation in passing yards per game, with only 160.3 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
