Live scores, highlights and updates from the Minnesota vs. Bowling Green football game
3rd Quarter Report
Fortunes may be turning around for Minnesota after losing four in a row. They have a bit of a cushion as they currently lead Bowling Green 23-10. Minnesota's offense has been firing on all cylinders thus far, outscoring their total from back in November with time still left to play.
If Minnesota keeps playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 6-7 in no time. On the other hand, Bowling Green will have to make due with a 7-6 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
The Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Bowling Green Falcons will square off in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field 2:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Minnesota is limping into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Back in November, things were looking good for Minnesota after they put the first points on the board, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They received a tough blow as they fell 28-14 to Wisconsin. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Minnesota couldn't answer the 14 points Wisconsin scored afterwards.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jordan Nubin, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bowling Green put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season back in November. They put the hurt on Western Michigan with a sharp 34-10 victory. With Bowling Green ahead 31-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Connor Bazelak was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Oladokun got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bowling Green's defense and their five sacks. Jordan Porter was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Minnesota's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Bowling Green, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
Minnesota is hoping to beat the odds on Tuesday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This contest might not be the best time to bet them against the spread since they've let bettors down the last four times they've played.
