Mississippi State vs. Texas A&M updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Mississippi State vs. Texas A&M football game
The Texas A&M Aggies and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are set to square off in an SEC matchup at 4 p.m. ET Oct. 1 at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. These two teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous games.
The Aggies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Arkansas Razorbacks last week, sneaking past 23-21. The win came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 14 to nothing deficit. A&M can attribute much of their success to RB Devon Achane, who rushed for one TD and 159 yards on 19 carries. This was the first time Achane has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year.
Meanwhile, when you finish with 211 more yards than your opponent like MSU did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They put the hurt on the Bowling Green Falcons with a sharp 45-14 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-7. MSU's QB Will Rogers was on fire, passing for six TDs and 406 yards on 49 attempts.
A&M is expected to lose this next one by 3.5. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.
The wins brought A&M up to 3-1 and the Bulldogs to 3-1. A couple numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Aggies come into the contest boasting the 15th fewest passing touchdowns allowed in the nation at three. But MSU ranks second in the nation when it comes to passing touchdowns, with 16 on the season. We'll see which of these strengths -- offense or defense -- will win out.
