Navy vs. UCF updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Navy vs. UCF football game
The UCF Knights have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. UCF and the Navy Midshipmen will face off in an American Athletic battle at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Jack Stephens Field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Knights won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 16.5-point advantage in the spread.
UCF scored first but ultimately less than the Louisville Cardinals in their contest two weeks ago. UCF fell to U of L 42-35. UCF didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the 7-point advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game. A silver lining for them was the play of QB Dillon Gabriel, who passed for three TDs and 188 yards on 29 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown and snatching one receiving TD.
Meanwhile, Navy came up short against the Houston Cougars last week, falling 28-20. No one had a standout game offensively for the Midshipmen, but they got one touchdown from QB Xavier Arline.
This next matchup looks promising for the Knights, who are favored by a full 16.5 points. They may be expected to win, but bettors beware: they are 0-2 against the spread when favored.
UCF is now 2-1 while Navy sits at 0-3. Two stats to keep an eye on: UCF is stumbling into the game with the 202nd most passing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 276 on average. Navy has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 247th worst in the nation in passing yards per game, with only 63.7 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
