Nebraska vs. Louisiana Tech updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Nebraska vs. Louisiana Tech football game
Nebraska will be playing the full four quarters on Saturday, but they're expected to have things wrapped up well before that. They will look to defend their home field against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. ET at Tom Osborne Field at Memorial Stadium. Unlike Nebraska, Louisiana Tech will be limping in after taking a loss.
Nebraska put the hurt on Northern Illinois with a sharp 35-11 win on Saturday. The success represented a nice turnaround for Nebraska who in their last game suffered a tough 36-14 defeat.
QB Heinrich Haarberg looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 158 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 98 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of RB Gabe Ervin Jr., who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the point spread favored Louisiana Tech on Saturday, but luck did not. They fell just short of North Texas by a score of 40-37.
RB Tyre Shelton put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown. Shelton was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. QB Hank Bachmeier didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but he still finished with two touchdowns in total.
When it’s third and short and the Bulldogs need some yardage, they’ve opted to try a passing play 61.7% of the time. The team tried something a little different on Saturday though, only passing on 20% of their third and short attempts. Given they only converted 31.3% of their third downs, don't expect to see them trying that again any time soon.
Looking ahead, Nebraska shouldn't be too worried about this matchup, as the experts have them favored by 20 points.
