The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Nevada Wolf Pack at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Clarence Mackay Stadium. Hawaii is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Sunday was a slow day for Hawaii as the team failed to score. It's going to take some time for them to recover from the 35-0 bruising that San Jose State dished out on Sunday. Hawaii was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Rainbow Warriors had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 198 total yards. They were smoked by their opponents in that department as San Jose State gained 468.
Nevada fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against New Mexico by a score of 34-24 on Saturday.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Nevada, racking up 14 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Brandon Talton: he added 12 points with four field goals, and another two kicking extra points.
San Jose State's win bumped their season record to 4-5 while Hawaii's loss dropped theirs to 2-7.
Hawaii is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. For those looking to play the spread, careful betting on Hawaii: they have a less-than-stellar 2-7 record against the spread this season.
Hawaii strolled past Nevada in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 31-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hawaii since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
