Nevada vs. New Mexico: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Nevada vs. New Mexico football game
New Mexico has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Nevada Wolf Pack at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Clarence Mackay Stadium. Nevada is favored, but seeing as the odds didn't stop New Mexico in their last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.
Last Saturday, New Mexico got the win against Hawaii by a conclusive 42-21. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as New Mexico just coasted through the last quarter.
New Mexico can attribute much of their success to Andrew Henry, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and Dylan Hopkins, who threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Jacory Croskey-Merritt also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Nevada can finally bid farewell to their 16-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They snuck past San Diego State with a 6-0 victory.
Their wins bumped New Mexico to 3-4 and Nevada to 1-6.
Both teams pleased both fans and bettors in their last contests by winning and covering the spread. Going forward, Nevada is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by a single point. This contest will be New Mexico's fifth straight as the underdogs (so far over this stretch they are 3-1 against the spread).
