Live scores, highlights and updates from the Nevada vs. UNLV football game
Game Recap
The Nevada Wolf Pack were the big favorite in their most recent matchup, and for good reason. They blew past the UNLV Rebels 51-20 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for the Wolf Pack, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Nevada's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 20 first-half points. UNLV wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 20 to nothing heading into the break. The offense for Nevada continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 31 points to put the game away.
Nevada's QB Carson Strong did his thing and passed for four TDs and 417 yards on 49 attempts. Nevada's DB Tyson Williams got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the third quarter into a touchdown.
Special teams collected 15 points for Nevada. K Brandon Talton delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
The losing side was boosted by WR Steve Jenkins, who caught 12 passes for one TD and 133 yards.
The victory improved the Wolf Pack's record to 6-2. The defeat dropped the Rebels' record to 0-8.
Nevada has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the San Jose State Spartans at 10 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Clarence Mackay Stadium. UNLV is on the road again next week and plays against the New Mexico Lobos at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Dreamstyle Stadium.
