NIU vs. BUFF: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Wednesday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Northern Illinois vs. Buffalo football game
Through 3 Quarters
The Buffalo Bulls were the heavy favorites here for a reason. After three quarters it's looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Northern Illinois Huskies as the Bulls lead 42-16. This matchup looks like it will end up very different from the tight one-point margin of NIU's win over Buffalo in their previous head-to-head November of 2018.
Buffalo has been led by RB Jaret Patterson, who so far has rushed for two TDs and 137 yards on 20 carries. Patterson has put himself on the highlight reel with a 56-yard TD scramble in the second quarter.
The Buffalo defense has been merciless to QB Ross Bowers and currently has three sacks accrued. Buffalo might just be able to coast to victory if they can keep up that ball pressure

What to Know
The Northern Illinois Huskies are 4-0 against the Buffalo Bulls since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success Wednesday. They will face off at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 4 at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium to kick off their 2020 seasons. Last year was nothing to brag about for the Huskies (5-7), so the team is looking forward to a new start. Meanwhile, Buffalo was on the positive side of.500 (8-5) last season and is hoping to kick off an even more successful year.
The NIU sideline is surely aware that they're the underdogs in this one. We'll soon see whether they can make the experts look bad.
