North Carolina vs. Miami (FL) Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Carolina vs. Miami (FL) football game
The Miami (FL) Hurricanes have enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they must head out on the road. Their week off comes to an end as they meet up with the North Carolina Tar Heels at 3:30 p.m. ET at Kenan Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Miami (FL) now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
It was close but no cigar for the Hurricanes as they fell 30-28 to the Virginia Cavaliers two weeks ago. Miami (FL)'s loss came about despite a quality game from RB Cam'Ron Harris, who rushed for two TDs and 111 yards on 14 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Harris' 57-yard touchdown rush down the left side of the field in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, UNC entered their game against the Florida State Seminoles last week without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. UNC took a 35-25 hit to the loss column. What made the defeat an especially bitter pill for them to swallow was that they had been favored by 17.5 points coming into the matchup. A silver lining for UNC was the play of QB Sam Howell, who passed for two TDs and 203 yards on 32 attempts in addition to picking up 108 yards on the ground.
The losses put Miami (FL) at 2-3 and the Tar Heels at 3-3. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Hurricanes are 197th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with ten on the season. UNC has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 203rd most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up ten on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
