North Carolina vs. Wake Forest: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Carolina vs. Wake Forest football game
The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will face off in an ACC clash at noon ET Nov. 6 at Kenan Memorial Stadium. If the matchup is anything like UNC's 59-53 victory from their previous meeting in November of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
The Tar Heels came up short against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last week, falling 44-34. North Carolina's loss came about despite a quality game from QB Sam Howell, who passed for one TD and 341 yards on 31 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 101 yards.
Meanwhile, the Duke Blue Devils typically have all the answers at home, but last week Wake Forest proved too difficult a challenge. Wake Forest took their game at home with ease, bagging a 45-7 win over Duke. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28 to nothing. QB Sam Hartman went supernova for Wake Forest as he passed for three TDs and 402 yards on 37 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 61 yards.
This next matchup is expected to be close, with the Tar Heels going off at just a 2.5-point favorite. But bettors beware: they are only 2-4 against the spread when favored.
UNC is now 4-4 while the Demon Deacons sit at 8-0. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: UNC is stumbling into the matchup with the 218th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 13 on the season. Wake Forest has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 197th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 11 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
