North Texas vs. Temple updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Texas vs. Temple football game
The North Texas Mean Green will be playing at home against the Temple Owls at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at DATCU Stadium. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
North Texas was first on the board, but had to settle for second at the end of their contest against Navy on Saturday. North Texas fell just short of Navy by a score of 27-24. Despite 67 more yards than Navy, North Texas couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
The losing side was boosted by Ayo Adeyi, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Adeyi is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Chandler Rogers had a good game too, finishing with 267 passing yards and two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Temple's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They lost to UTSA at home by a decisive 49-34 margin.
Despite the defeat, Temple got a solid performance out of E.J. Warner, who threw for 472 yards and five touchdowns. That's the first time this season that Warner passed for three or more passing touchdowns. John Adams also helped out as he racked up 127 receiving yards.
With that loss, North Texas has a losing record at 2-3. Temple has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Not only did the two teams lose their last games, but neither team managed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, North Texas is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by seven points. For those looking to play the spread, watch out: Temple is playing as the underdog, but their 0-4 record against the spread as such isn't exactly encouraging.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday' match: The Mean Green have been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 191.2 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for the Owls, though, as they've been averaging only 90.7 per game.Temple must know the disadvantage they're up against on the ground. Will they fare better against North Texas' dominant run game? Check CBS Sports after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other college football content.
