Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Texas vs. UAB football game
3rd Quarter Report
The last time UAB and North Texas met, the contest was decided by 20 points, but it sure doesn't look like the final score will be so lopsided this time. A win is still up for grabs for either team after three quarters, but UAB is up 28-25 over North Texas.
UAB have yet to string together two consecutive wins, but this may be their chance. We'll see if they can pull it off.
Preview
The UAB Blazers will head out on the road to face off against the North Texas Mean Green at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at DATCU Stadium. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
UAB was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 34-24 win over Temple. The win was just what UAB needed coming off of a 31-6 defeat in their prior matchup.
Jermaine Brown Jr. was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jacob Zeno, who threw for 246 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes.
North Texas can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Tulsa by a score of 35-28. The victory was just what North Texas needed coming off of a 45-21 loss in their prior contest.
North Texas' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Oscar Adaway III, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and Chandler Rogers, who threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Adaway III's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Ayo Adeyi also helped out as he racked up 121 rushing yards.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 4-7.
Not only did both teams in this Saturday's matchup win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Going forward, North Texas is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by three points. UAB might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last four times they've played North Texas.
UAB took their win against North Texas in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 41-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for UAB since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
