Northern Illinois vs. Vanderbilt: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Northern Illinois vs. Vanderbilt football game
The Vanderbilt Commodores have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the Northern Illinois Huskies at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium. The neutral point spread forecasts a close one for these two.
Vanderbilt was first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their matchup against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last week. The contest between them was not particularly close, with the Commodores falling 45-25. No one had a standout game offensively for Vanderbilt, but they got scores from a handful of players including QB AJ Swann, WR Will Sheppard, and TE Gavin Schoenwald.
Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for NIU as they fell 38-35 to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane last week. QB Rocky Lombardi put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for three TDs and 252 yards on 31 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
