Northwestern vs. Iowa Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Northwestern vs. Iowa football game
Northwestern and Iowa are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The pair will face off in a Big Ten West battle at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Wrigley Field. Coming in fresh off a win as the underdog, Northwestern will stroll into this one as the favorite.
Northwestern was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. They snuck past Maryland with a 33-27 win.
Brendan Sullivan was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt. Cam Porter was in the mix as well, providing Northwestern with two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Northwestern's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Maryland's QB won't forget Aidan Hubbard anytime soon given Hubbard sacked him six times.
Meanwhile, the defenses reigned supreme when Iowa and Minnesota played last Saturday, rewarding bettors who took the risk on the low 30.5-point over/under. Iowa fell just short of Minnesota by a score of 12-10. It was the first time this season that Iowa let down their fans at home.
Northwestern's win lifted them to 4-4 while Iowa's loss dropped them down to 6-2.
Northwestern suffered a grim 33-13 defeat to Iowa in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Northwestern, Spencer Petras (who punched in a rushing scores, and also threw for 220 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
