The Northwestern Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the UTEP Miners at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Ryan Field.
Northwestern had to start their season on the road on Sunday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 24-7 to Rutgers. Northwestern was down 24-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led UTEP over Incarnate Word in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. UTEP took their match against Incarnate Word 28-14. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but UTEP was the (much) better team in the second half.
Northwestern will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 5-7 record against the spread.
While the Wildcats is hoping for a better result this time, the Miners is hoping to keep the momentum going. Check back to see if Northwestern can bounce back or if UTEP can keep them down.
