Notre Dame vs. Georgia Tech updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Notre Dame vs. Georgia Tech football game
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will square off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium. Notre Dame is out to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
Everything went the Fighting Irish's way against the Virginia Cavaliers last week as they made off with a 28-3 win. The team ran away with 21 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those in the second to pick up the victory. No one had a standout game offensively for Notre Dame, but they got scores from a handful of players including QB Jack Coan, TE Michael Mayer, and RB Kyren Williams.
Notre Dame's defense was a presence, as it embarrassed Virginia's offensive line to sack the quarterback six times for a total loss of 33 yards. The heavy lifting was done by DE Rylie Mills and LB Bo Bauer, who each racked up two sacks.
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech came up short against the Boston College Eagles last week, falling 41-30. Georgia Tech's loss came about despite a quality game from RB Jahmyr Gibbs, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
The Fighting Irish are the favorite in this one, with an expected 17-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a five-game streak of ATS wins.
Notre Dame's win brought them up to 9-1 while the Yellow Jackets' defeat pulled them down to 3-7. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Notre Dame is 163rd worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 13 on the season. Georgia Tech has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 229th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 22 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
