Notre Dame vs. Navy Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Notre Dame vs. Navy football game
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 4-1 against the Navy Midshipmen since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Notre Dame's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Navy at 3:30 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Notre Dame Stadium. These two teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.
The North Carolina Tar Heels typically have all the answers at home, but last week the Fighting Irish proved too difficult a challenge. Notre Dame walked away with a 44-34 victory. It was another big night for their RB Kyren Williams, who rushed for one TD and 202 yards on 22 carries. That touchdown -- a 91-yard rush in the fourth quarter -- was one of the highlights of the game.
Special teams collected 14 points for Notre Dame. K Jonathan Doerer delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 3-3 at the half for Navy and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane last Friday, but the Midshipmen stepped up in the second half for a 20-17 win. No one had a standout game offensively for Navy, but they got one touchdown from FB James Harris II.
The Fighting Irish are the favorite in this one, with an expected 21-point margin of victory. They are currently three-for-three against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
The wins brought Notre Dame up to 7-1 and Navy to 2-6. A couple offensive stats to keep an eye on: Notre Dame is stumbling into the matchup with the 203rd fewest rushing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 97.3 on average. Navy has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 248th worst in the nation in passing yards per game, with only 59.3 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
