Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh football game
Notre Dame will be playing the full four quarters on Saturday, but they're expected to have things wrapped up well before that. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pittsburgh Panthers at 3:30 p.m. ET at Notre Dame Stadium. Notre Dame will be strutting in after a win while Pittsburgh will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Two weeks ago, Notre Dame took their match at home with ease, bagging a 48-20 win over USC. The result was nothing new for Notre Dame, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Notre Dame's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audric Estime, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Sam Hartman also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh's 8-4 record from last season has become a distant memory after another unsuccessful outing. They took a 21-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wake Forest. Despite 91 more yards than Wake Forest, Pittsburgh couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Christian Veilleux put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Bub Means, who picked up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Notre Dame's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Pittsburgh, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-5.
As mentioned, Notre Dame is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 20 points. For those looking to play the spread, keep Notre Dame in mind: they have a solid 5-2 record against the spread this season.
