Oklahoma State has been tabbed as the Big 12 favorite in the 2013 Big 12 football preseason poll released by the conference on Thursday. The poll is voted on by the league's media.
The Cowboys, who won their first Big 12 title in 2011, received 15 first-place votes for a total of 365 points, ahead of second-place Oklahoma (355 points, eight first-place votes).
TCU was chosen third with nine first-place votes and 347 points while Texas placed fourth with eight first-place nods and 337 points. Baylor (2) and Kansas State (1) also picked up first-place votes.
The bunched up vote near the top reflects a league laden with parity. One can argue that the top six teams in the poll are all legitimate title contenders.
Big 12 Football media days take place in Dallas on July 22-23.
