The No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners will begin their SEC journey on Saturday when they host the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers for their first conference game since leaving the Big 12 this offseason. The Sooners have had to grind out wins the last two weeks against Tulane and Houston but are 3-0 overall while the Volunteers have blown out Chattanooga, NC State and Kent State to begin the season. Tennessee has covered the spread by at least three touchdowns in every game it has played this year while Oklahoma is 2-1 against the number.

The game will be played at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, where the Sooners have won 10 games in a row, and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Volunteers are listed as 7-point favorites while the over/under for total points is at 57.5 in the latest Tennessee vs. Oklahoma odds via SportsLine consensus. Why Oklahoma can cover

The Sooners have started out 3-0 in each of Brent Venables' three seasons at the helm, but lost six of 10 in 2022 and then lost three of six last season to finish at 10-3 after a 7-0 start. Sophomore quarterback Jackson Arnold has accounted for nine touchdowns so far this season, but he's averaged just 5.6 yards per pass attempt this year and the Sooners have averaged only 325.3 yards of total offense per game.

However, the Oklahoma defense has looked like one of the most opportunistic units in the nation early in the year. Led by linebacker Danny Stutsman, the Sooners have forced 10 turnovers already this season with 10 sacks and 22 tackles for loss. Look for Venables to use his defensive playmakers to throw some complex looks at Nico Iamaleava in his fifth career start and for the crowd noise to be a factor in Iamaleava's first career road start. See which team to pick here

Why Tennessee can cover

The Volunteers will be facing their stiffest test of the season in Norman on Saturday but Josh Heupel's squad hasn't missed a step so far this season. They opened the year with a 69-3 win over Chattanooga where starters only played for a half and then followed that up with a 51-10 win over then-ranked NC State in Charlotte. Last week, Tennessee pulled many of its starters after the first 20 minutes of a win over Kent State where they set new school records for points (71) and total offense (740 yards).

Redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava has only played in eight quarters this season and will be making his fifth career start on Saturday, but he's already regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the conference. He's averaging 10.4 yards per pass attempt this season and he's completing 71.6% of his passes while accounting for 800 scrimmage yards and seven total touchdowns. Tennessee is averaging over 300 yards per game both passing and rushing through its first three games. See which team to pick here
