Why Oklahoma can cover

Oklahoma might be coming off a lackluster performance in Week 2, but it cruised to a 51-3 win over Temple in its opener. Sophomore quarterback Jackson Arnold threw for 141 yards and four touchdowns in that win, including three to Purdue transfer Deion Burks. Arnold finished with 174 yards and two touchdowns in last week's win over Houston, but Oklahoma's defense held the Cougars to a 4 of 15 mark on third down.

Wide receiver Nic Anderson, who had 10 touchdown receptions last season, could make his season debut on Saturday as he continues recovering from a hamstring injury. Tulane has a young quarterback of its own in redshirt freshman Darian Mensah, who threw an interception and lost a fumble in the fourth quarter against Kansas State. The Sooners have forced eight turnovers through their first two games, which does not bode well for Tulane's young quarterback. See which team to pick here.

Why Tulane can cover

Tulane has made a habit of taking big-name programs down to the wire in recent seasons, including a 40-35 Oklahoma victory in the most recent meeting between these teams (2021). The Green Wave pushed Kansas State throughout last week's game, ultimately covering the spread as 8.5-point underdogs. Mensah threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns, while sophomore running back Makhi Hughes rushed for 128 yards and a score.

Oklahoma finished with just 249 yards of total offense last week, as Arnold completed 19 of 32 passes with an interception. The Sooners are already down to their third center of the season, as starter Branson Hickman (ankle) and backup Geirean Hatchett (biceps) have both suffered injuries. Their rushing attack and pass protection both took a hit in last week's game against Houston. See which team to pick here.
