Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oklahoma vs. West Virginia football game
Game Recap
The Oklahoma Sooners are still undefeated after their contest against the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday, but West Virginia came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Sooners came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mountaineers, sneaking past 16-13. The overall outcome was to be expected, but West Virginia made it more of a matchup than the oddsmakers had predicted.
No one had a standout game offensively for Oklahoma, but they got one touchdown from RB Austin Stogner.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed ten. K Gabe Brkic delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
West Virginia's only offensive touchdown came on a rush from QB Garrett Greene.
The victory bumped Oklahoma's record up to 4-0. The loss dropped the Mountaineers back to even at 2-2.
The Sooners will square off against the Kansas State Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. K-State took a loss in their last game and are no doubt out to reverse Oklahoma's good fortune. As for West Virginia, they will face off against the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. Texas Tech also suffered a recent loss, falling 70-35 to the Texas Longhorns on Saturday.
