Old Dominion vs. Wake Forest Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Old Dominion vs. Wake Forest football game
Wake Forest haven't yet left their home-field this season, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will square off against the Old Dominion Monarchs at 12:00 p.m. ET at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Wake Forest didn't have too much trouble with Vanderbilt at home as they won 36-20. The over/under was set at 56 points, so nice work oddsmakers; you were right on the money.
Nobody from Wake Forest had a standout game, but they still got scores from RB Tate Carney, QB Mitch Griffis, and WR Jahmal Banks. Carney also helped out as he racked up 117 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Old Dominion's game on Saturday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily it didn't stay that way. They took their match against Louisiana 38-31. With that win, Old Dominion brought their scoring average up to 27.5 points per game.
QB Grant Wilson looked spectacular while leading his team to the win, throwing for 247 yards and four touchdowns on 19 attempts. WR Kelby Williams did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 44 receiving yards.
Looking ahead, Wake Forest is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 14 points. They finished last season with a 7-5 record against the spread.
Wake Forest ought to be happy about their advantage in the spread: the team was a solid 6-4 when favored last season. Betting on them to win was the most profitable play last year, as bettors who put $100 on that outcome in every game walked away with $469.54. On the other hand, Old Dominion was 2-8 as the underdog last season.
