Oregon vs. California: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oregon vs. California football game
If the oddsmakers' predictions hold true, the near future looks bright for Oregon. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the California Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Autzen Stadium. Oregon will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Two of the premier teams in all of college football squared off on Saturday, and it was Oregon coming away with the 'W'. They put a hurting on Utah on the road to the tune of 35-6. Oregon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 29 points or more this season.
Bo Nix was his usual excellent self, throwing for 248 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Troy Franklin also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, California's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 50-49 to USC. California was up 43-30 in the fourth but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Despite the defeat, California had strong showings from Jaydn Ott, who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and Fernando Mendoza, who threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns. Ott was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trond Grizzell, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Oregon's win lifted them to 8-1 while California's defeat dropped them down to 3-6.
While only Oregon took care of their fans the last time they played, both teams pleased bettors by covering the spread. As mentioned, Oregon is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 26.5 points. Those brave souls putting their money on California against the spread have faith in an upset since their 1-3 ATS can't hold a candle to Oregon's 7-1-1.
Oregon strolled past California when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 42-24. With Oregon ahead 35-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
