Arizona WR Austin Hill had an effcient game on Saturday, as the sophomore receiver caught two passes -- both for touchdowns. (US Presswire) |
Oregon State's Keith Kostol delievered one of the best punting performances of the season against Utah on Saturday.
Here's three under-the-radar performances from Week 8:
- WR Austin Hill, Arizona: Hill only touched the ball two times in the Wildcats' 52-17 win over Washington, but they were two big touches. The sophomore was on the receiving end of two Matt Scott touchdown passes, including a 53-yarder in the second quarter. Hill also tacked on a 17-yard TD catch in the third quarter. Hill now has seven touchdowns this season, third among Pac-12 receivers.
- P Keith Kostol, Oregon State: No one's more underappreciated or under-the-radar than a punter, which probably explains how Kostol got on our list. In a win over Utah where the Beavers only gained 227 total yards, Kostol proved to be the difference. The sophomore punted eight times on the day and pinned Utah inside the 20 with five of those punts. Thanks to Kostol, the Utes started offensive drives from their own 17, 14, 12, 11 and 5-yard lines.
- LB Shayne Skov, Stanford: Stanford's defense steamrolled Cal's rushing attack in Saturday's 21-3 win, limiting the Golden Bears to just three yards on the ground. A big part of that was Skov, who recorded five tackles on the day, including two tackles for a loss. Skov's two TFLs sent the Bears 10 yards backward. Overall, the Stanford defense racked up 10 TFL's for a total loss of 44 yards.
Others considered: DB Avery Patterson, Oregon: 3 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TFL, 1 pass breakup vs. Arizona State. TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Washington: 8 rec., 110 yards (career-high), TD vs. Arizona. WR Markus Wheaton, Oregon State: 7 rec., 90 yards vs. Utah.
