Petrino informed of firing through letter from AD Long

Coach Bobby Petrino received the letter from AD Jeff Long informing Petrino he was fired Tuesday at 5:45 p.m., Petrino said in a statement. “I have not heard from coach Petrino since he received my final determination in writing,” Long said. “I chose to do it in writing because that's the terms of his contract.”
