After two games on the road, the Pittsburgh Panthers are heading back home. Pitt and the Clemson Tigers will face off in an ACC battle at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Heinz Field. These two teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games.
The Panthers took their matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies last week by a conclusive 28-7 score. The squad ran away with 21 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those in the second to pick up the victory. Pitt's QB Kenny Pickett did his thing and passed for two TDs and 203 yards on 37 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 38 yards.
Meanwhile, Clemson came out on top in a nail-biter against the Syracuse Orange last Friday, sneaking past 17-14. Clemson's RB Kobe Pace filled up the stat sheet, punching in one rushing touchdown.
This next contest is expected to be close, with Pitt going off at just a 3-point favorite. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (4-1), so they might be worth a quick bet.
The wins brought the Panthers up to 5-1 and the Tigers to 4-2. A pair of offensive stats to keep an eye on: Pitt comes into the contest boasting the third most overall offensive touchdowns in the nation at 38. Less enviably, Clemson is 180th worst in the nation in yards per game, with only 322.3 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked against Clemson.
