Purdue vs. Syracuse updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Purdue vs. Syracuse football game
Syracuse haven't yet left their home-field this season, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will challenge the Purdue Boilermakers at 7:30 p.m. ET at Ross-Ade Stadium. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Syracuse at home against Western Michigan as the team secured a 48-7 victory. Syracuse pushed the score to 48-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Western Michigan had no chance of recovering from.
QB Garrett Shrader looked spectacular while leading his team to the win, throwing for 286 yards and a touchdown. LeQuint Allen was another key contributor, finishing with 30 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Purdue's game on Saturday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 24-17 victory over Virginia Tech.
Purdue's win was a true team effort, with three players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was RB Devin Mockobee, who rushed for 95 yards and punched in a rushing TD. QB Hudson Card was another key contributor, throwing for 248 yards and rushed for another 16 and a score on the ground.
Looking ahead, the match is expected to be close, with Syracuse going off as just a 2.5 point favorite. They finished last season with a 5-6 record against the spread.
Syracuse skirted past Purdue in their previous matchup last September 32-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Syracuse since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
