Safety Bacarri Rambo and linebacker Alec Ogletree will be among four Bulldogs suspended for Georgia's game against Missouri on Saturday, according to a report from the Macon Telegraph.
Both Rambo and Ogletree were held out of last week's opener against Buffalo, and there was some question regarding their status for this week' Southeastern Conference opener.
It appears they'll stay in Athens along with linebacker Chase Vasser and cornerback Sanders Commings, who were already suspended for the first two games of the season due to offseason arrests.
Rambo, a first-team All-American in 2011, and Ogletree, an eight-game starter last year, were both handed down multiple-game suspensions after failing drug tests last spring. But Georgia head coach Mark Richt hadn't been clear on which games they would miss. Both are likely to miss future games, as well.
Not surprisingly, the depleted defense struggled a bit in Georgia's 45-23 win over Buffalo last Saturday. The Bulls put up 253 yards and 16 points in the first half alone, but the Dawgs clamped down and allowed only 19 yards in the second half before a late 75-yard touchdown drive by Buffalo.
Mizzou's offense will be a step up in class for Georgia. Quarterback James Franklin is one of the country's top dual-threats and freshman wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is a big-bodied talent waiting to break out.
The Georgia defenders not left in Athens will need to step it up at Faurot Field on Saturday or it could be a long plane ride home from Missouri.
