Both AggiesSports.com and Gigem247.com are reporting that the waiver has been denied, though there has been no official word from Texas A&M as of yet.
Williams was originally a five-star member of Oklahoma's 2011 recruiting class and considered one of the best running backs in the country. He had only 46 carries for 219 yards as a freshman with the Sooners in 2011 before deciding to transfer to Texas A&M.
As for what this means for the Aggies, it doesn't hurt too much. While the Aggies will have to make up for the production of Cyrus Gray as they move to the SEC in 2012, they still have Christine Michael and Trey Williams on the running back depth chart. So while it would have been nice to have a third option as talented as Brandon Williams available, the Aggies still have plenty of other options.
