Rice vs. North Texas: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Rice vs. North Texas football game
The Rice Owls will be returning home after a two-game road trip. Rice and the North Texas Mean Green will face off in a Conference USA battle at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday at Rice Stadium. The Owls are out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
After constant struggles on the road, Rice has finally found some success away from home. Last week, they secured a 30-24 W over the UAB Blazers. Rice got their victory on the backs of several key players, and it was TE Jaeger Bull out in front snatching two receiving TDs.
Meanwhile, North Texas was first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their game against the Liberty Flames last week. North Texas fell to Liberty 35-26. The losing side was boosted by RB Ayo Adeyi, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
This next contest is expected to be close, with the Owls going off at just a 2.5-point favorite. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
Rice is now 3-4 while North Texas sits at 1-6. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Rice is stumbling into the matchup with the 240th most touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 27 on the season. North Texas is completely their equal: they are 226th worst in the nation in touchdowns allowed, with 27 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
