Rice's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 20 first-half points. Texas Southern wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 20-6 heading into the break. The offense for Rice continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 28 points to put the game away.

The Owls will play host again and welcome the Southern Miss Golden Eagles to Rice Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET next Saturday.
