San Diego State vs. Colorado State updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the San Diego State vs. Colorado State football game
Game Recap
The San Diego State Aztecs won the last time they faced the Colorado State Rams, and things went their way on Saturday, too. San Diego State beat Colorado State 29-17. The team accrued 23 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Aztecs, but they got one touchdown from WR Jesse Matthews. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget RB Jordan Byrd, who went all the way with a kickoff return for touchdown in the second quarter?
Special teams collected 11 points for San Diego State. K Matt Araiza delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game. BJ Busbee's 90-yard punt return for touchdown should surely be counted as one of the game's standout moments.
Colorado State's defeat came about despite a quality game from RB Marcus McElroy, who punched in two rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns McElroy has had all year.
The win improved San Diego State's record to 4-3. Colorado State's overall record fell to 1-3.
The Aztecs will take on the BYU Cougars at 10 p.m. ET next Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Both of those teams have allowed few points on average (San Diego State 16.29, BYU 14.7), so any points scored will be well earned. Colorado State will take on the Utah State Aggies at 9:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at home. Utah State's offense will be looking to get out and run against an Utah State squad that has given up 35 points on average this season.
