The San Jose State Spartans will play against a Division II opponent, the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, in an early-season tune-up on Saturday at 10 p.m. ET at CEFCU Stadium. SJSU finished a perfect 7-0 in the regular season last season, but they are hoping to make up for a 34-13 defeat to the Ball State Cardinals in the Arizona Bowl.
The Spartans are the favorite in this one, with an expected 23.5-point margin of victory. A win is hardly a sure thing, especially this early in the season, so expect a good game.
