These stories are generating headlines across the SEC:
- LSU punter Brad Wing has been suspended for the Dec. 31 Chick-fil-A Bowl against Clemson because of a violation of team rules, the school announced Thursday. The Times-Picayune first reported the news. Nineteen of Wing’s 59 punts this season went 50 yards or longer. He’ll likely be replaced by fellow Australian Jamie Keehn, a freshman who punted three times in the season opener.
- Ten SEC players have accepted invitations to play in the Jan. 26 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. They are Arkansas WR Cobi Hamilton and QB Tyler Wilson; Kentucky G Larry Warford; Missouri LB Zaviar Gooden; Texas A&M LB Sean Porter; Alabama LB Nico Johnson; Florida RB Mike Gillilslee; and three Georgia players, WR Tavarres King and safeties Bacarri Rambo and Shawn Williams.
- Arkansas G Alvin Bailey is skipping his senior year to enter the NFL Draft. Bailey is the second Razorbacks junior to do so, following RB Knile Davis. Bailey (6-5, 312) started all 38 games of his Arkansas career.
- Arkansas coach Bret Bielema named former Miami Hurricanes assistant George McDonald wide receivers coach. McDonald, known as a tremendous recruiter, also coached WRs for the Cleveland Browns in 2009-10. Ten receivers he has worked with in college -- he's also coached at Minnesota, Western Michigan, Stanford and Northern Illinois -- made it to the NFL.
