- Auburn players believe redshirt freshman Greg Robinson could develop into an All-America at left tackle. He's gotten himself ready with 1-on-1 battles against the Tigers' top pass rushers, Corey Lemonier and Dee Ford. "It’s a big help, because they’re going to prepare me for the top defensive ends in the SEC," Robinson told Al.com.

- Missouri's athletic department will spend at least $750,000 more on travel this school year because of the school's move from the Big 12 to the SEC. There's only one roundtrip shorter than 500 air miles.

Arkansas ' Knile Davis, coming back from a serious ankle injury, won't get tackled until the season opener against Jacksonville State. Coach John L. Smith held Davis out of the most recent scrimmage and is sticking to his philosophy of getting his best players to game day healthy.
