Vanderbilt, South Carolina QB Connor Shaw is questionable for Saturday's game against East Carolina with a shoulder injury. (US Presswire) |
There are no huge injury blows to report so far, but there are a fair share of minor injuries to update around the league. Here are the latest injury reports on key players from around the SEC:
- QB Connor Shaw, South Carolina (shoulder): Shaw has done some light throwing this week, but his status is still in doubt. Coach Steve Spurrier said the Gamecocks are taking a wait-and-see approach for Saturday's game against East Carolina.
- WR Cobi Hamilton, Arkansas (neck): Hamilton left last Saturday's game against Jacksonville State with what was termed an injury "above the shoulders." It appears to be an issue with his neck. Hamilton returned to practice this week and he is expected to start against Louisiana-Monroe this week.
- RB CoShik Williams, Kentucky (back): Williams is out for Kentucky's game against Kent State on Saturday. RB Raymond Sanders is expected to start in his place.
- RB Jeff Scott, Ole Miss (back): Scott is expected to play against UTEP on Saturday. He missed the opener against Central Arkansas, but he returned to practice this week, and has been cleared to play.
- LB Herman Lathers, Tennessee (shoulder): Lathers missed much of the second half of last Friday's game against North Carolina State with a sprained shoulder. He has been limited this week in practice. He's listed as probable, but with Georgia State coming to town, the Vols could choose to sit him.
- CB/WR Malcolm Mitchell; OL John Theus; OL Watts Dantzler; Georgia (ankles): All three are battling sprained ankles. All can officially be classified as questionable for Saturday's game at Missouri, but count on all three playing, since they were all at practice on Wednesday.
