SMU vs. UCF Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the SMU vs. UCF football game
The SMU Mustangs will be returning home after a two-game road trip. SMU and the UCF Knights will face off in an American Athletic battle at noon ET on Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. The Mustangs are out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
SMU might have drawn first blood against the Memphis Tigers last week, but it was Memphis who got the last laugh. SMU fell just short of Memphis by a score of 28-25. QB Tanner Mordecai had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception and fumbling the ball once.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, UCF beat the Tulane Green Wave 14-10 last week. No one had a standout game offensively for the Knights, but they got scores from WR Ryan O'Keefe and WR Brandon Johnson.
The Mustangs are the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past two games, so buyers beware.
SMU is now 7-2 while UCF sits at 6-3. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: SMU is 227th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 20 on the season. The Knights have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 201st most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 15 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
