South Alabama vs. Western Kentucky Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Wednesday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Alabama vs. Western Kentucky football game
The South Alabama Jaguars and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will compete for holiday cheer in the New Orleans Bowl on Wednesday at Caesars Superdome at 9 p.m. ET.
South Alabama beat the Old Dominion Monarchs 27-20 three weeks ago. South Alabama QB Carter Bradley was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 190 yards on 29 attempts.
The Jaguars' defense was a presence as well, as it got past Old Dominion's offensive line to sack QB Hayden Wolff four times for a total loss of 32 yards. It was a group effort with four guys contributing.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but WKU ultimately got the result they were hoping for three weeks ago with a 32-31 win over the Florida Atlantic Owls. The score was all tied up at the break 7-7, but WKU was the better team in the second half. QB Austin Reed continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, passing for three TDs and 410 yards on 54 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. WKU's victory came on a one-yard rush from Reed with only 0:00 remaining in overtime followed up by a gutsy two-point conversion.
Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Jaguars rank 12th in the nation when it comes to yards allowed per game, with only 304.7 on average. But the Hilltoppers come into the game boasting the ninth most yards per game in the nation at 483.3. These opposing strengths should make for an exciting matchup.
