South Carolina coach Will Muschamp announced on Saturday that two former defensive starters -- defensive back Al Harris Jr. and defensive end David Johnson -- have been dismissed from the program.
"They are no longer part of the team," Muschamp said, per 247Sports. "We wish them the best."
Muschamp did not elaborate as to why the two players had been kicked off the team.
Harris had 46 tackles and seven pass breakups in his two years with the Gamecocks, including being named to the Freshman All-SEC team in 2014. Johnson played in 10 games in 2015, with 20 tackles (1.5 for loss) and two quarterback hurries.
