South Carolina vs. Georgia: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Carolina vs. Georgia football game
Game Recap
The Georgia Bulldogs fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks 20-17 when the two teams previously met in October of last year; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Everything went UGA's way against USC on Saturday as they made off with a 45-16 win. That looming 29-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this year.
RB James Cook hadn't helped UGA's cause all that much against the Mississippi State Bulldogs last week, but the same can't be said for this matchup. Cook was one of the most active players for the team, rushing for two TDs and 104 yards on six carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Cook has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. Cook's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season. RB Zamir White also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
A silver lining for USC was the play of TE Nick Muse, who caught eight passes for one TD and 131 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Muse has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
The victory makes it two in a row for UGA and bumps their record up to 6-2. The Gamecocks' loss makes it five in a row and drags their record down to 2-7.
The Bulldogs will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the Vanderbilt Commodores at noon ET. Vanderbilt is still on the hunt for that elusive first W. As for USC, they will face off against the Kentucky Wildcats at noon ET next Saturday at Kroger Field. USC is 1-5 after losses this season, UK 2-3.
